Q. Can I keep my current toll-free number?
A. Yes. USA Datanet can port your existing number from your previous carrier, and/or we can provide you with new toll-free number(s).
Q. Will I get to keep the same local features that I currently have with my local provider?
A. USA Datanet’s Hosted IP Service offers enhanced features when compared with the local calling features you have now - everything from Auto Attendant, Voice Mail, Account Codes, Three-way Calling, and much more. Refer to product section for more details.
Q. How does the voice quality of USA Datanet's IP Service compare?
A. The quality and reliability is better than traditional phone service due to USA Datanet’s Private IP Network. Many residentially based IP telephony offerings use the public internet to originate, route and terminate calls which often lack significant quality or speed needed to support voice communications. Private IP Networks are more expensive connections that include QoS (Quality of Service) standards that dramatically improve voice quality and service reliability.
Q. Will I still have 911 service?
A. Yes. 911 service will be available at your premise at all times. Normally, 911 service will be available at all IP phones at your location. In the case of a power outage, one designated phone set will be designated as a 911 capable-phone and remain continuously in service for emergency or other calls.
Q. Does our local calling area change when we switch to your service?
A. Your local calling area will remain the same as defined by local Bell operating companies..
Q. Will fax lines work the same with a hosted service?
A. Yes. As part of your service, a device is installed that converts signals from digital to analog format, for use with fax machines.
Q. How will this work with my firewall?
A. As part of the centralized network security, the configuration includes a telephony firewall, ISP public firewall, Web Server firewall, and management firewall. These components will work in conjunction with the customers firewalls, or in some instances replace them.
